Hello my beautiful stylish readers, its been an eventful week both personally and work wise! I did an interview for a TV program which was short but quite fun! It is yet to be aired and I’ll tell you more about this in a few days but today, I have a fashion trend that I have made my trend for the week. The Tye Dye print! Surprising right?Isn’t fashion just a cycle?!
The Tye Dye is a process that consists of folding, twisting, pleating and crumpling fabrics or garments and then binding them with strings or rubber bands followed by the application of dye. The use of these strings prevent the dye from coloring specific areas of the fabric. The dyes are characterized by the use of bright primary colors and bold patterns.Simple motifs, monochromatic color schemes and the use of other fabrics than cotton are what makes this look newer than the earliest Tye dye trends.
A little history: Tye dye prints can originally be traced to America- Peru,Japan and India in Asia, Kano,Nigeria in Africa which inspired the hippie look in the USA in the 1960s.
So anyway, we now have Tye dye in more modern patterns and now its about minimalism folks! Take a look at these silhouettes from the Resort 2014 looks, runways as well as a few street styles as captured by famous street style photographer, Tommy Ton and tell me, would you wear this trend? do you think it’s hot or hmm… still thinking?
I like the bleached effect in the Burberry look as well as the flirty skirts and maxi dresses! The pullover is lovely and Miranda Kerr’s tee-shirt looks so stylish. For the skirts , you can style with a simple blouse/ shirt or mix and match different patterns like the fit and flare skirt with the blouse in a similar blend of colors. Shop this trend below:

However you choose to style it, consider your body type and shape and always remember, style is about owning the look!

Crisp white shirts, Color Blocks, Floral prints, Stripes, Washed out and ripped Denim, Minimalist tailoring and Sharp cuts in wool, silk and linen, all made in palettes of blue, yellow, orange and fiery reds and basics of camel, white and black! whew! (taking notes?) there was also some shimmer, mesh and blazers in stripes, floral and prints.
This is your trend roll call from the runways of the Milan Fashion Week 2015 and they are smoking hot! some designers were about food, fruits and flowers like Etro, Cavalli, while others were about the stripes and window panes. I was wowed by the Emporio Armani collection totally in black and white with a bit of his customary blue but so masculine, I was taken over by the entire collection!
Accessories complemented the looks as white, brown and black as well as colorful bags and shoes strutted along. Calfskin sandals, slip ons, moccasins, sneakers and lovely two-tone loafers were officially celebrated as the footwear for summer.
Men who are tired of the boring looks and colors of menswear fashion need not worry about this one as fabrics and cuts while still minimal, were made more interesting in their colors and themes.

Yes indeed! Move over Rihanna, a new trend has come to fashion town! I know a lot of us did analyze and try to understand the lack of mystery in her Swarovski-jeweled naked dress, but let’s be honest, a little lining never did any one any harm! hear! hear! as designers are beginning to lengthen the hems and yes, satisfy our desire for a little mystery in our evening wear! do I speak for myself when I say we are truly tired of the show-all, bare all looks for evening? If you are with me then check these truly chic and elegant looks from the spring looks for your own pick and go out shopping!
Another good news? it fits every body type and every style personality out there from the boho chic, the curvy bombshell, the minimalist , feminine edgy and even the eccentric!!!
The Colors, the cut, all are not lost in this trend and the taller you are the more easily your frock will flow! If you are a fruity apple (body type with a wider waist and full bust) go for looks with cuts that skim through the middle or an empire cut like the Dolce & Gabbana piece or the Cavalli caftan. Curvy pear? (small bust and waist and wider hips)Funlola’s dress will be a hit for you and the slim athletic shape should definitely be running to the Lanvin look, or Iman’s cobalt and black look. The Gucci dress will look cool in the hourglass shape eager to show off a slim waist and of course all the right curves and finally the juicy strawberry can take a bite into the DVF wrap dress number as her full bust and slim waist will definitely give the dress a desired fit and add curves, also the flirty D & G dress will be a good alternative for you too.
So the next time you have to dress up for evening,my darling stylish readers, know that it’s OK to be covered up, comfortable and trendy all at once!!! I’m not even going to ask if you would wear this trend- you’ve got to!!!
Hugs :))
