Hello stylish readers, Saturday was a very pink night at the Dorchester Event Centre in Lagos, where the Genevieve Pink Ball, a yearly event intended to raise awareness for breast cancer, took place and of course for such a noble event, the guests turned out in glamorous outfits with ‘A touch of pink’ .

Hello stylish people! If you live in Nigeria, you know how much we love to be trendy! trendy jewelry, trendy hairstyles, trendy outfits, we love to look good! This year, I have watched with growing intrigue, the hair trends move from the usual weaves to our natural textured hair and then the slender but really long braids in varying colors, the big long braids called the box braids and back to the natural hair again with some really interesting and creative ways of styling, either done up or Mohawk style…and then have you noticed how almost everyone around you seems to be going for the super short hair? Also trending are the water waves and spring curls and you know nothing looks good on an African woman like the Afro curls, long and funky!
Let’s look at some picture facts shall we?
Our local movie and music stars all turn up with these styles but styling them in ways that make the looks theirs, sometimes, they even start the trends! some others have since made a few of these looks their personal trade mark looks to fit their personalities… think sassy Rita Dominic and the sultry Tiwa Savage…yup, its all in the hair!
So what do you think? which do gets you all gooey?do you have your trademark hairstyle? let’s hear it ok?
Hugs :))

Hello Stylish readers, happy independence day to all my Nigerian brothers and sisters as yesterday was our 54th birthday. How did I spend it? resting!!! The eve of our independence day saw me at the Riverplate Gardens where VYBZ had a packed and rocking meet up for the top 10 clubs and lounges in Abuja and I guess the aim was to get all their exclusive members to meet at one place where they could socialize and… you know, meet up.
There was a very busy blue carpet to go with the event and we were there to take photos of the fashionable looks of the night…
Thanks to Ray Ray my awesome brother for the photos and MamaLovesMakeup for my really lovely make up.
Hugs:))

Hello my stylish readers, over the weekend I had to see this friend who’s a few months pregnant and she looked really good, I mean how often do you get to see a pregnant woman take the time or feel up to the ‘task’ of looking good for herself or any other person that has to spend time with her?
For some people, after the first pregnancy, the desire to always look good and put together when going out seems to wane and what is top(sometimes, not just top but the only thing) of the dress up priority list is comfort. Fit, color or shape takes a far second or even gets kicked off the list and well, the eyes of the viewing public gets to suffer the result! Celebrities and other public figures have made it more trendy to show off their bump through fitted clothes and not shapeless baggy clothes any longer. Comfort is still important though but so are fit and others on the list I tell ya!
Today, I get to show you, my pregnant stylish friends, a few things that you should wear and own that helps make you always look stylish without putting too much effort or spending too much- after all it is easier these days to find retail outlets that sell beautiful and trendy maternity clothes that allow you to be spoiled for choice on where to shop, to look good and keep up your style sense.
For starters though, buy a good bra, you may be pregnant for a only few months but a bra that fits your growing bosoms makes a good investment for fit.
Maternity Jeans are a good way to keep up your trendy look, find ones with adjustable waist bands and stylish and flattering cuts like the pencil and boot cuts.
Depending on the season, shorts, Capri pants, leggings and sleeveless tops keep you cool and trendy. Pair these bottoms with lighter flow fabrics like chiffon, cotton and Jersey. Nice tunics and long tops are essentials which you could layer with colorful and trendy jackets and cardigans.
Form fitting stretch spandex tops and skirts that hug you and show off your figure may still work for you, just make sure they are long enough to cover your bump. Also try to choose tops with interesting enough necklines and sleeves.
Dresses with empire cuts, stretch and wrap dresses will give you great fit and style.
Skip the barefoot pregnant look by adding low wedges, comfortable boots and heels and ballet flats. Lots of open toes tend to add comfort to swollen and sweaty feet so find trendy sandals that suit your outfit and total look.
Nice chunky accessories, bangles, earrings, scarves, an oversized bag are all things that you can keep using post pregnancy and which will make you look stylish during.
The general idea at the end of the day is to stick to your personal style and colors.
So with these few tips I hope if you never did before, you’ll develop the urge to be the sleekest pregnant woman since Kate Middleton!
Hot? or Hmm…? Would you wear these? Let me know.
Hugs :))
